In late April will start Klaipeda cruise season and this year it promises to be very intense. To visit Klaipeda already registered 66 cruise liners that have to take the about 75,000 passengers.
It is noted that, to Klaipeda are coming increasingly larger vessels. Half of this season visitant vessels in the Klaipėda sea port will be longer than 200 meters. Last year, the port of Klaipeda visited 52 cruisers, received 65,000 passengers. Most of cruise tourists are from America, France, Italy, Spain.
Arvydas Vatkus, Klaipeda State Sea Port Authority Managing Director, counts, that last year the cruise ships were collected 683.000 Eur charges.
The port manager notes that in Klaipeda, compared with Riga, Gdansk, Gdynia, Gothenburg ports last year, cruise trend is better: ships and the number of tourists is increasing every year.
