Financing for international project „SMOCS“ approved
The Monitoring Committee meeting of the Baltic Sea region program 2007-2013 took place in Oslo (Norway) on September 15-16, 2009. During the meeting the financing for international project „SMOCS"was approved within INTERREG IV program. Port Authority is participating as a partner.
The goal of INTERREG IV program international project „SMOCS" (Sustainable Management of Contaminated Sediments in the Baltic Sea) - is to determine the latest management methods of contaminated soil in order to mitigate seabed and water pollution, ensure greater maritime bio-variety, and decrease the quantities of hazardous materials in fish organisms. These novelties will correspond HELCOM Baltic Sea Activity Plan.
