Klaipėda Seaport to Connect Asia and Scandinavia
The international transportation company YASHEYA has chosen Klaipėda State Seaport to transport containerised bulk cargo from India to Scandinavia. Soon the first test cargo will come to the major Lithuanian transport hub by the shuttle train Viking. The company YASHEYA, headquarted in Hong Kong, is looking for optimal containerised bulk cargo transportation to Europe.
According to Klaipėda Seaport officials, the cargo, transported from Ukraine, will be divided into 3000-tones parts and distributed by small size ships across Europe. About 50 000 tones are planned to be transported via Klaipėda State Seaport, if the first cargo transportation is successful.
Klaipėda State Seaport, located in the western part of Lithuania, is the northernmost and only ice-free seaport on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea. The seaport is a regional transport hub connecting sea, land and railway routes from East to West. Compared to neighbouring Eastern Baltic seaports, the port of Klaipėda has the widest shipping line network with other seaports.
