Klaipeda arena construction contract is singed

Klaipeda city Municipality has signed a multifunction sports and entertainment complex construction contract. Construction works are planned to take place within 16 months starting from 1^st September. The total contract price is 16 million EUR.

 

Project goals:

• To create effective conditions for the development of international cooperation during high-level cultural and sports events.
• To promote the development of tourism and sports tourism.
• To improve the living environment and quality of life in the Klaipeda region.

Project objectives:

• To build and install a universal sports arena of 25,000 m² with 5300 seats. Arena will be adapted to carry out various sports competitions and cultural events at international and national level.
• To create public tourism infrastructure and services that would attract private investment and ensure long-term job creation.

Expected results:

• More possibilities to carry out high-level international and national sports and cultural events that will improve the development of professional sports teams.
• More abilities to organize mass concerts, conferences and other cultural events.
• To establish business organization and facilities infrastructure in order to attract private capital investment to support the complex.
• Additional workspaces will be created, social environment and economy will improve.
• Youth employment problem is going to be addressed as well as the integration of disabled people.
• Sports and cultural life will revive.
