Klaipeda wants to exchange good practices with Dutch

Lithuanian honorary Consul in Netherlands Lina van Kesteren Sotničenkaitė invited Klaipeda businesses and organizations to participate in the agricultural and bio-agriculture exhibition Promotion Days taking place at the beginning of November in Netherlands. Various organizations from North-Eastern European countries will be able to display the business potentials of their region to the visitors of the Promotion Days.

Honorary Consul also announced that over fifty singers will participate in the Sea Festival next year. They promised not only to surprise Klaipeda residents with original performances but also to support Klaipeda care institutions with necessary facilities.

The guest and Klaipeda mayor Rimantas Taraškevicius also discussed Klaipeda City Municipality representatives' visit to the Leeuwarden in the Netherlands which took place last year. Local municipal government representatives presented the decision-making process, local government structure, and shared local communication methods and practices. Klaipeda delegation expects to continue the joint work. Klaipeda mayor expressed willingness to organize seminars in Leeuwarden which would be useful and beneficial for both parties.

According to the Mayor, Klaipeda would like to learn from Dutch how to deal with bureaucracy in the adoption and implementation of local solutions, how to monitor and label the city bike trails and also to learn about the integration of ethnic minorities into social and cultural life.
