Lithuania – in the shipping White List
Last year having entered the shipping White List, this year Lithuania still keeps positions in the prestigious list, outrunning such countries with deep maritime traditions as Spain, Japan, Russia. This has been approved during the session of the State Port Control Committee of Paris Memorandum of Understanding.
The fact that Lithuania has entered the White List means that vessels of Lithuania, as other flag states of the List, will be less often subjected to inspection because the ship management level in the country is recognized as good. White, grey and black lists of flag states are approved every year. The entrance to a certain list is being calculated according to an old complicated formula. Among the principle indices is the one detailing the number of detentions during the latter three years.
