New investor in Klaipeda FEZ
Klaipeda Free Economic Zone (FEZ) has signed an agreement with new investor - HeidelbergCement. "Heidelberg Klaipeda" will invest up to 10 million Litas in the construction of cement distribution facility in Klaipeda.
The total area of the logistics terminal will cover about 1 hectare. HeidelbergCement Klaipeda, owned by HeidelbergCement Scandinavian department, will import cement to Lithuania through the new terminal. The terminal volume is expected to reach around 50-70 thousand tons per year. The company will also create 15-20 new jobs in Klaipeda city. New terminal will reduce packaging and transportation costs; current packaging technologies will be replaced with the modern and fully automated.
Klaipeda FEZ was selected for the realization of the project due to its favorable business conditions and adequate logistics. It is expected that the emergence of the new terminal will be beneficial for the whole city. Businesses and city residents can expect better cement and concrete prices.
