Wood processing and furniture

Within the previous several years the local wood, furniture and paper industry has demonstrated a brisk growth toward leading positions. The sector grows 15-20% annually. There are more than 150 companies in the sector, more than 50 furniture manufacturers, and the number of people employed within the sector is steadily growing. Using both local and imported raw materials, Lithuanian wood processing and furniture manufacturing enterprises export more than 60% of their production to the EU, the US, the CIS and Japanese markets. Exports of Lithuanian furniture grow about 15-20% annually.
