How long do you live in Klaipeda?

This is 4th year. I came in Apr 2007.

What was your first impression, when you came to Klaipeda?

Fantastic! I came from Bangkok, Thailand, infamous for regular heavy traffic jams whereas in Klaipeda it is smooth.  When I landed at Palanga on day one and drove towards Klaipeda the serene beauty of trees on both sides of the road was very pleasant and soothing.

What do you usually do in your free time?

Read current news, watch TV, movies and go for a long walk. If weather permits go to beach and sit for meditation. Some time arrange get together with colleagues and friends. Many weekends we drive to Palanga and spend good time there.

Nature has been very kind to the city of Klaipeda with Clean coastal area, Park of Curonian Lagoon, Sandy Curonian Spit and Nemunas River delta. It depends upon one individual's interest, if he is a nature lover he is in "the right place". Now you have well developed golf courses. So what more?

In your opinion, what are the key advantages of Klaipeda as a business environment for potential foreign investors (operating in any sector)?

There are ample information about key advantages of Klaipeda on various websites of Klaipeda, Lithuanian development Agency and government of Lithuania. What is not mentioned is about the beautiful and intelligent folks who live in Klaipeda and the serene beauty surrounding the place. It's a very unique combination of industrial and tourist attraction.

How do you assess the people in Klaipeda (from labor market perspective)? Does Klaipeda have enough professionals? Their qualification?

In my opinion there is no dearth of skilled personnel. Experience is available only in the industry that are working here but even a new industry could flourish with suitable  trainings and exposure to the staff who are quick in grasp and well qualified.

What would be your advice for an entrepreneur, which is thinking about investing in Klaipeda?

Just do it. Good place, loving people, well developed support systems, logistic advantage.
